CoreChamber

Autoclave power, inside your press

CoreChamber is a high-performance autoclave module designed to be installed inside an existing press. It transforms a standard press into a flexible composite manufacturing platform with controlled pressure, heating, and cooling inside a sealed vessel.

CoreChamber is built for flexibility. The module can be lifted in and out of the press, so the same press can be used for multiple processes. This helps you get more value, more uptime, and more output from the equipment you already have.

The system supports integration of induction-heated shell tools, CorePlates, and other Corebon process tools—enabling fast cycles and high-quality composite parts, all within one press setup.

Technical Specifications:

  • Temperature range: Depends on the integrated product
  • Cycle time: Depends on the integrated product
  • Product integration: Shell tools and CorePlates
  • Cooling: Air cooling or integrated in the CorePlates
  • Pressure: Up to 12 bar
  • Integration: Integrates into presses

Key Benefits:

  • Turn any press into a pressure-capable composite system
Add autoclave-level pressure capability to an existing press without installing a dedicated autoclave.
  • Increase press utilization
The chamber can be installed when pressure processing is required and removed when the press is needed for other operations.
  • Flexible production platform
Compatible with Corebon tooling such as Shell tools and CorePlates, allowing multiple composite processes in the same press.
  • Efficient factory integration
CoreChamber allows manufacturers to expand production capability while using the equipment they already have.

CoreChamber vs. CoreClave

CoreChamber and CoreClave are both designed to enable high-performance composite manufacturing, but they are optimized for different production scenarios.

CoreClave is a fully integrated production system, with rapid heating & cooling of shell tools, designed for high-volume composite manufacturing. It provides extremely fast thermal cycling and a dedicated manufacturing platform for thermoplastic composites where maximum productivity and automation are required.

CoreChamber, on the other hand, is a modular pressure vessel designed to be integrated into an existing press. It’s limited to cooling with chilled air, so it has a lower cooling rate than the CoreClave. By using the press as the primary machine structure, CoreChamber offers a lower-investment entry point while still enabling pressure-based composite processing.

This makes CoreChamber a cost-effective solution for manufacturers who want to introduce thermoplastic composite production without investing in a complete production system. It is especially suitable for lower production volumes, development work, and flexible manufacturing environments.

CoreChamber is also a strong platform for thermoset composite production when used together with Corebon Shell tools. In these applications, the chamber provides the pressure environment while the shell tools deliver the heating performance required for efficient curing processes.

Flexible composite manufacturing

CoreChamber is designed to make better use of existing press equipment. By adding a sealed pressure vessel inside the press, manufacturers can run composite processes that normally require a dedicated autoclave or specialized production system. The chamber creates a controlled pressure environment while allowing the heating and cooling to be provided by the integrated process tooling.

Because the chamber can be lifted in and out of the press, the same press can easily switch between different manufacturing methods. This enables production setups where compression molding, blank heating, forming, or other composite processes can be performed in the same machine.

Built for integration

CoreChamber is designed to work together with Corebon’s tooling systems, such as Shell tools and CorePlates. These tools provide the heating and cooling performance required for fast composite processing while the chamber supplies the pressure environment needed for high-quality parts. The modular concept allows each installation to be optimized for the application. Temperature capability, cycle time, and thermal performance depend on the integrated process system and tooling.

Higher utilization of existing presses

Press capacity is often a limiting factor in composite manufacturing. CoreChamber helps manufacturers increase press utilization by allowing one press to support multiple production processes. Instead of dedicating a press to a single operation, the chamber can be installed when pressure-based processes are needed and removed when the press is required for other operations.

This approach reduces equipment investment while increasing production flexibility and overall factory efficiency.
